Show Dawg’s Founders: The Power Duo Transforming Pet Fashion
When you meet Show Dawg co-founders A.C. and C.W., their dynamic energy is contagious. These two powerhouse entrepreneurs finish each other's sentences and share knowing looks that speak to their deep connection – not just as business partners, but as visionaries who share an unshakeable belief in the power of self-expression.
Origins of a Movement
Amber's (pictured left) passion for fashion was sparked during childhood shopping trips to Chicago with her grandmother. With over 10 years in the fashion industry, she served as Marketing Director for an Atlanta fashion and art magazine. As a Brand Strategist, she helped emerging fashion brands define their unique identity.
C.W. (pictured right) has over 12 years of experience in Management Consulting, working with several Fortune 500 clients, helping them deliver and execute against projects in their portfolio. But she also holds a space in the modeling industry, where her love for style and fashion was ignited.
The idea for Show Dawg was born from our own experiences. We saw a gap in the market for pet accessories that truly matched the lifestyle and aesthetic of fashion-conscious pet parents. But it was more than that – we saw an opportunity to create something meaningful.
We both believe that style isn’t just about what you wear – it is about making a statement, using your style as a form of self expression showing the world who you are. We wanted to translate that same energy into the pet space and share our unique bond with our 95lb doberman pinscher, Prince.
Breaking Industry Norms
As minority women entrepreneurs, we both knew we were entering an industry that needs fresh perspectives. We didn't just want to create another pet accessories brand. We wanted to revolutionize how people think about pet & human fashion.
Every piece we design has to serve both a functional and aesthetic purpose. Everything has to elevate both the pet parent and their dog's confidence. This was inspired by the stoic and majestic character of Prince, who embodies what it means to be a “Show Dawg.” The products have a sense of bling element and boldness to reflect his eye-catching personality (his stance and physical demeanor is bold, confident, and fearless) and we wanted the accessories to embody these elements as well. As his pet parents, we have a distinct and unique style that we also wanted to share with the world.
The Show Dawg Difference
What sets Show Dawg apart is our attention to detail. We obsess over every stitch, every material choice, every color combination. But more than that, it's our understanding of what these pieces mean to people. These aren't just accessories. They're conversation starters. They're confidence boosters. They're the difference between taking a walk and making an entrance.
We're not just creating products. We're building a movement that celebrates individuality and the unique bond between pets and their parents. And we're just getting started. Every new collection is an opportunity to push boundaries, to celebrate diversity, to empower more people and their pets to express themselves with unapologetic boldness.
Building a Community
Show Dawg is evolving beyond our initial vision. What amazes us most is the community that's growing around our brand. We see people connecting over their Show Dawg pieces, sharing styling tips, expressing their style and their pet’s style, and encouraging each other. That's what keeps us going – seeing how our pieces become part of people's daily joy. When someone tells us they feel more confident walking their dog in our accessories, or how their pup seems to strut a little prouder – that's everything.
These are the principles that reflect our shared vision:
- Celebrating diversity through design
- Making luxury accessible for everyday moments
- Empowering confidence through style
- Prioritizing quality and thoughtful design
- Creating pieces that start conversations
At its heart, Show Dawg is about transformation. It's about taking everyday moments and making them extraordinary. Because everyone deserves to feel special. Both you and your dog deserve to own your runway, whatever that runway might be.
Together, we're not just changing how people shop for pet accessories and for themselves, we're changing how they feel about themselves and their pets. And that's what true luxury is all about.
